Last week, Brooke choked on her Jive and was knocked out of first place.  This week, they have to pull out the stops and try some dangerous lifts.  Derek has a bad back, so they’ve done some prep work in the low impact environment of the Burke family pool.

Here we go, they’re doing a Grease inspired number to “You’re the One That I Want.”  Wow, lots of lifts and spins.  They even do a mid-routine costume change and dance on the judges’ table.  Brooke dismounts from the table with a HUGE leap into his arms.  They follow up with a crazy linked rolling maneuver, some great unison work, and another amazing lift.

Standing O!

Bruno is ecstatic.  “It is beyond belief!  One of the best freestyles I’ve ever seen!”  Then, because he’s Bruno:  “You ended up in positions that I’ve only seen in the Kama Sutra!”  Carrie Ann thought they “brought it.”  Len is happy that he got to speak last because he’s all hot and bothered.  “That is the best freestyle I have EVER seen.”

Amazing, just amazing.

The judges are all over the place tonight.  Carrie Ann and Bruno give them a 9.  Len only gives them a 7.  Hmph, that seems a little low.

Tom says, “I bet two of our couples wish that Len had nipped off to the bathroom.”

Come on back tomorrow for the Dancing with the Stars Results Show when we learn which couple will get eliminated and who will live to dance again.

Brooke and Derek seem untouchable with their score of 28, but Maurice & Cheryl and Warren & Kym are not too far off with matching scores of 25.  In danger once again are Rocco DiSpirito and Cloris Leachman.  Both of them have escaped elimination before, but they may get off the hook again - if y’all vote for them, of course…

Misty is sort of philosophical about her injury - she’s going into surgery tomorrow and has full hopes of recovery.  She was planning on taking a year off volleyball anyway, so now she’ll just mend up and spend some time with her family.

Maksim and Misty trade kind words, and she vows to come back to the show and dance the jive again.

Maksim says, “Misty gave it her all.  I’m very proud of her and I couldn’t ask for a better partner.”

Misty joins Tom onstage in an elegant dress and crutches.  We get a look at the video footage of her injury - she tore her Achilles tendon and is now out of the competition.  Bummer!  They were doing really well, too.  She’s got to recover from the injury and think of the long term - she’s got a volleyball career that has to take priority.

Brooke and Derek will stay on top of the leaderboard this week; the judges loved their waltz.

Carrie Ann hands out a 9.  Len gives them a 10!  Unbelievable!  Bruno gives them a 9.  28 out of 30 - incredible score.

That was the first 10 of the season, and I can’t remember the last time Len awarded a 10 to a couple.

Brooke and Derek butt heads this week during rehearsal, but it looks like they pulled together on the dance floor.  They’re swaying around to John Mayer’s “Daughters.”  It’s a very smooth and lyrical waltz, and they’re doing a beautiful job.  Ah, and they end the dance with Brooke giving her daughter in the front row a kiss.  Sweet.

Carrie Ann thinks she’s a pleasure to watch.  Len said it was the best dance so far this season, which is high praise indeed.  Bruno thought it was dazzling!

Cloris has got her wig back on, that’s good.  Here are the scores:

Carrie Ann gave them a 6, Len only gave them a 5, and Bruno gives them a 5.  16 out of 30 will put them in last place, but that’s where they were last week, and they survived on votes.  Will they repeat?

What about Misty?  Tell us about what happened to Misty already!!!
